Our Policies
Health:
All pets must be healthy and free of any contagious illnesses. If your pet is exhibiting any symptoms that may suggest illness such as sneezing, coughing, wheezing, runny eyes or nose, vomiting, lethargy, or diarrhea, please do not bring your pet to our facility. We are happy to refer ill dogs and cats to local veterinarians that board pets.
All guests must be on an active flea and tick preventative. Guests will be checked for fleas and ticks upon arrival, if there is evidence of a flea and/or tick infestation or there is concern about the effectiveness of an applied product, the pet will be treated with a topical flea and tick treatment at the owner's expense.
House brand of food is Royal Canin. If you are feeding your pet something different, please bring it (stored in a re-sealable container or bag) as changing food can cause severe upset stomach.
All dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in carriers.
Vaccinations:
Your pet must be current on vaccinations before entering our facility. Please bring proof of vaccinations with you, or fax them to us at 913-727-1150 prior to boarding.
Dogs: Rabies (3 yr. or 1 yr.), DHPP (3yr. or 1 yr.), Lepto (1yr.), and Bordetella (1yr)
Cats: Rabies, FVRCP (both 1 year vaccines)
Hours:
Khaki Hound and Camo Kitty is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday thru Sunday. Dropping off and picking up outside of regular business hours is available by prior arrangement at an additional fee.
Checkout time for boarders is 7pm daily. Pets leaving after this time may be charged an additional fee.
Cancellations and Payment:
Please call 24-hours in advance if you need to change you boarding reservation. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, cash, or check (please note, there is a $25 returned check fee). Payment is due upon pick-up of your pet.
Visitors:
Family members are permitted to visit boarding pets and can take dogs out to play area or for a walk with written consent from the owner and prior arrangement with staff. We are happy to send an email or text with a photo to update owners or family members wanting to check on their pets.
Bedding and Toys:
Khaki Hound and Camo Kitty provides each overnight guest with comfortable, elevated bedding and blankets, so please leave your dog's bed at home. You are welcome to bring your own treats and any toys your dog may enjoy, however we cannot guarantee that they will be returned in the same condition.
Prices
Prices include 15 minutes of individual play time for dogs and 1 hour of Atrium time for cats.

The mission of the Khaki Hound & Camo Kitty is to provide your pet with the highest quality of care in the most comfortable and caring environment while you are away.
We offer state of the art safety and security with 18 large airy indoor/outdoor suites with comfortable off the floor beds covered with fleece pads. For our more indoor minded canine guests we offer large, medium and small kennels all with plenty of room to stretch out. And when it is time to go outside we offer time in one of our 50 square foot runs or a refreshing walk.
The Khaki Hound also features a 1500 square foot play area with space enough for the most energetic canine guests to get exercise and sunshine in an enclosed dog friendly environment.
For our feline visitors we offer double sized kitty condo from Shor-line. Enough space for comfortable sleeping and a private litter box for those necessary potty breaks. A greenhouse attached to the cattery is available for some quality bird watching and lounging in the sun.
